Octaride Nigeria Limited ("Octaride", "we", "us", or "our") operates a multi-modal transport and logistics platform. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and web platform.

By using Octaride, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Personal Information: Name, email address, phone number, profile photo, and payment details provided during registration.

Location Data: Real-time GPS location during active trips. For drivers, location is tracked while the app is set to "Online" status. For passengers, pickup and dropoff coordinates are stored per trip.

Device Information: IP address, device type, operating system, and app version.

Transaction Data: Trip history, fare amounts, payment method, promo codes used, and wallet transactions.

Driver Documents: Government-issued IDs, vehicle registration, insurance certificates, and profile photos submitted during driver onboarding.

We use your data to:

• Match passengers with available drivers in real time
• Process payments and maintain wallet balances
• Provide customer support and resolve disputes
• Send trip receipts, notifications, and promotional offers
• Improve route optimization and dynamic pricing algorithms
• Comply with legal and regulatory requirements in Nigeria
• Verify driver identity and vehicle compliance

We do not sell your personal data. We may share it with:

• Drivers/Passengers: Limited contact info (name, phone) visible during an active trip only
• Payment Processors: Paystack, Flutterwave, or bank partners to process transactions
• Law Enforcement: When required by Nigerian law, court order, or to protect safety
• Analytics Partners: Anonymized, aggregated data only

Location tracking is core to our service. Passengers' locations are used only during active booking sessions. Drivers' live locations are visible to matched passengers during a trip. We do not track location in the background when the app is closed.

Trip records are retained for 7 years for legal and financial compliance. Account data is retained while your account is active. Upon account deletion, personal data is anonymized within 30 days, except where retention is legally required.

We use industry-standard encryption (TLS 1.3) for data in transit and AES-256 for data at rest. Driver documents are stored in private, access-controlled storage. We conduct periodic security audits.

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Opt out of marketing communications
• Lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC)
