By creating an account or using the Octaride platform (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.

These Terms apply to all users, including passengers, drivers, equipment owners, and corporate clients.

You must be at least 18 years old to use Octaride. Drivers must hold a valid Nigerian driver's licence and meet all FRSC requirements. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements.

Octaride provides a technology platform connecting passengers with independent drivers, cargo senders with logistics providers, and equipment renters with equipment owners. Octaride does not provide transportation or logistics services directly — drivers and providers are independent contractors, not employees of Octaride.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at support@octaride.com if you suspect unauthorized access. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these Terms.

Fares are calculated dynamically based on distance, time, vehicle type, and demand. By booking a trip, you agree to pay the displayed fare.

Platform Commission: Octaride retains 13.33% of each completed trip fare. Drivers receive 86.67% of the fare.

All payments are processed in Nigerian Naira (₦). Promotional codes and discounts are subject to their individual terms and cannot be combined unless stated.

Cancelled trips may attract a cancellation fee if a driver has already been dispatched.

Drivers who join Octaride must:

• Maintain a valid driver's licence and roadworthy vehicle at all times
• Carry valid insurance and vehicle registration documents
• Complete Octaride's onboarding training and background check
• Maintain a minimum rating of 4.0 stars
• Comply with all applicable Nigerian traffic laws
• Not engage in discriminatory or abusive behavior toward passengers

Octaride may deactivate driver accounts for repeated safety violations, low ratings, or fraudulent activity.

Passengers must treat drivers with respect, not make fraudulent booking claims, and not engage in behavior that endangers driver safety. Passengers who damage a vehicle may be charged for repair costs.

Equipment rentals are subject to additional agreements between the renter and equipment owner. Octaride facilitates the connection but is not liable for equipment condition. Renters are responsible for any damage beyond normal wear.

The following are strictly prohibited:

• Using the platform for illegal activities or transporting prohibited goods
• Creating fake accounts or providing false information during onboarding
• Manipulating ratings or reviews
• Circumventing the platform to arrange off-platform payments with drivers
• Abusing the promotional or referral system

Octaride is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service. Our maximum liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount paid for the relevant trip or service. We are not liable for driver behavior beyond our reasonable control.

Any dispute arising from these Terms shall be resolved first through good-faith negotiation, then mediation, and finally by arbitration under Nigerian law in Lagos State. By using the Service, you waive the right to participate in class action lawsuits.

Octaride may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after notification constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We will provide at least 14 days' notice for material changes.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Lagos State.
